Jae Gilmartin
Jae Francis Gilmartin; born May 13, 2004) is a Scottish Video Game Developer. Gilmartin is best known for founding and setting up the J-Game Dev Studio [1], where he is currently working on an Untitled Video Game.
Early Life
Gilmartin grew up in Kirkmuirhill, along with his family and dog. He attended Lesmahagow High School in Lesmahagow. When Jae was 6 he began attending the Beavers (Scouting), which later in his life proved to be helpful to his leadership qualities. In April 2019, he met his first girlfriend, Kelly. The relationship lasted 2 months and in June 2019, Jae and Kelly broke up, leading to Jae being very devastated over the loss of his girlfriend. However, through the breakup with Kelly, Jae became acquainted with Kelly's former friend Rachel. Rachel would later play a significant role in Gilmartin's love life.
In July 2019, Gilmartin was selected to participate in a Scouts trip to Amsterdam, where Jae began to make many friends and improve his team building skills, which would help him later in his game development career.
Throughout Jae's life, TCGs such as Magic The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh became a large part of his life as he attended his local cafe in order to socialize with like-minded individuals. Since 2020 Jae has still been a fan of Magic [2]
Game Development Career
In 2016 Gilmartin befriended Terry Sloman. Terry's skills in 3D Modeling proved inspirational to Gilmartin, influencing him to create 3D video games later in life. Terry and Jae's friendship continued for the next 5 years, as Terry progressed his 3D modeling career by creating 3D car models for the popular video game Grand Theft Auto 5. In 2020 Gilmartin began attending an online College course for Video game development, which inspired Jae to start his own Game Dev company. The company began development on an Untitled and unreleased game which Gilmartin will continue to work on until completion.
Personal Life
Gilmartin was in a relationship with his girlfriend Rachel until they broke up in late 2020 due to parental concerns.
Gilmartin has a hand condition known as Raynaud syndrome.
Gilmartin has stated he enjoys playing a large array of video games, mainly Destiny 2 in which he amassed over 1,000 hours.
