History[edit]

The company was established by Ladli Prasad Jaiswal in 1944, supported by Maharaja Jagatjit, headquartered at Kapurthala, Punjab, India.[23][24] In the early 1990s, the company formed a 50/50 partnership venture with Hiram Walker which ended in a few years. The same fate was followed by a similar partnership formed with Brown-Forman.[24]

The company focuses on manufacturing, distribution, export and sales. The company exports its products in UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, United Kingdom, Eastern European and African countries.[25]

Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin serves as the brand ambassador of IICA Vodka and Sunny Leone serves as the ambassador of AC Black.[24][26]

Partners and Acquisitions[edit]

The company signed a bottling pact with Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited.[27] The company acquired brands from Scotland’s George Sinclair & Sons, a part of pedigree Scottish family which controls niche scotch whiskey brands like King Henry VIII, Clan Sinclair and Spirit Ascending.[28]

Capitalisation[edit]

The company raised INR 200 crores from Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) investment firm.[29][23][30][8]

In 2017, the company raised INR 265 crores as debt funding from Indiabulls Commercial Credit Limited, a part of Indiabulls Group.[29][31][23][32][33]
