Jaime Adler (born 16th November 2003) is an Olivier nominated British actress.[1], singer and model. She is best known for her roles as Iris[2][3][4][5][6][7] in The Nether, at the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End, Lavender[8][9] in Matilda the Musical, at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End and Olga Romanov in the movie Anastasia: Once Upon A Time, for Netflix.
Early life
Adler was born in London, England, and began her theatre and stage career in 2011, at the age of 7, touring the United Kingdom as part of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of The Sound Of Music[10], playing the part of Gretl Von Trapp. She then went straight on to play the role of Young Cosette, in Les Misérables, at the Sondheim Theatre (formerly the Queens Theatre) in the West End, in 2012. She played opposite Ramin Karimloo[11] as Jean Valjean. The cast and production that year won the Audience’s Choice Award at the 2012 Laurence Olivier Awards.[1]
Career
In 2012 Adler appeared in BBC One’s Casualty, as Alannah Ory, and in 2013 went back to the theatre cast in the role of Marta Von Trapp[12][13], in the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre’s production of The Sound Of Music. The production was nominated for the Best Musical Revival award[14] at the 2014 Laurence Olivier Awards and won the 2014 WhatsOnStage Best Musical Revival Award[15].
In 2014 Adler played Lavender[8][9] in The Royal Shakespeare’s Company production of Matilda The Musical, at the Cambridge Theatre, in the West End. She also appeared as Lavender[16] on ITV’s Paul O’Grady Show, with Alex Gaumond as Miss Trunchbull.
In 2015 Adler was Olivier nominated as Best Actress in a Supporting Role[17], for her portrayal of Iris[2][3][4][5][6][7] in “The Nether”, at the Duke of York’s Theatre, in the West End. "The Nether" was written by Jennifer Hailey, directed by the multi-Olivier Award winning Director Jeremy Herrin and produced by Headlong and Sonia Freidman OBE.
Adler went on to appear in series 2 of Channel 4 and Sky Arts “Damned”, playing the role of Tiara[18] alongside Alan Davies, written and starring Jo Brand, and produced by Morwenna Banks. The show aired in 2018.
In 2017 Adler relocated to Los Angeles, with her family, and filmed the role of Amy[19] in “Pretty Outrageous”, showing on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
In 2019 Adler flew to Rhode Island to film the movie Anastasia: Once Upon A Time, in the role of Olga Romanov, for Netflix.
In 2020 Adler filmed the pilot of the TV Mini-Series comedy “Across The Pond”, playing the title role of Lily, a storyline based on a British mother and daughter coming to America to make a life for themselves in Los Angeles. Adler’s mother is played by Victoria Summer, who portrayed Julie Andrews in the Disney film, "Saving Mr. Banks".
