Jairus Banaji (born: 24 September 1947) is an Indian public intellectual and author on economic policy issues.
Life
He spent his early years in Mumbai before emigrating with his parents to the United Kingdom in 1962.[citation needed]
Education
In 1965, he entered St. John's College, Oxford University. After obtaining his master's degree in 1972, he returned to India with his wife, Rohini Hensman and joined the Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.[citation needed]
Career
He is currently a professor of economics at the Department of Development Studies, SOAS, University of London.[1]
