Production[edit]
It was announced on December 18, 2013, that the web series was going to be adapted into a TBS sitcom. Hurwitz and Blumenfeld will write for the show, alongside showrunners Mike Risbe and Nate Reger. Hurwitz, Blumenfeld, Risbe, and Reger will also all serve as executive producers, as will Ed Helms, Ricky Van Veen, Sam Reich, and Mike Falbo.
On January 26, 2014, it was announced that TBS has only ordered a pilot for Jake and Amir- if the network likes the pilot script, it will be produced, and if they like the completed pilot, the show will be picked up.[2] If the series is picked up, it is unknown if Hurwitz and Blumenfeld will cease producing their podcast If I Were You due to the series taking up their time.
