Jake and Jasper: A Ferret Tale is a 2011 Canadian drama short film directed by Alison Parker. The film stars Connor Stanhope, Falcor the Ferret, and Andrew Jackson.

Plot[edit]

Jake's mother has died. After he adopts his sister's pet ferret, Jasper, his grief is lessened.[1][2][3]

Production[edit]

Parker, an independent filmmaker who had made a previous film scripted by Beleznay, shot Jake and Jasper in Vancouver after raising money on Indiegogo; the band Crash Test Dummies made an in-kind contribution of the use of one of their songs.[1][3] She subsequently made three other films about ferrets: The Ferret Squad, a feature film, and the additional shorts The Magic Ferret[2] and Dude, Where's My Ferret?, the last like Jake and Jasper with music by Henrik Åström.[4] Falcor, who played Jasper, was one of her own pet ferrets.[5]
