Jakub Tencl (born August 16, 1978) is a British-Czech clinical hypnotherapist, writer, chairman of The British Association Therapists and Hypnotherapists.[1]

Biography[edit]

He was born in Prague and lived there until he was 33 years old.[2] After travelling the world,[3] he began studying hypnotherapy at a US university[4] and then cognitive behavioural therapy at a university in England, and receive a PhD from the Charter University.[5] He set up a practice,[6] and was granted British citizenship in November 2018.

Ideas and Research[edit]

He has helped to develop the idea of lovefullness, which is a therapeutic method focusing on self-acceptance. The book "zero limits[7]" by Joe Vitale, which describes the Hawaiian healing technique of ho'oponono, has become an inspiration for this method. Despite the traditional concept, however, the element of divine intelligence is replaced by love.[8] It seeks to change the perception of the world in its established dualistic arrangement.[9] He also has explored the possibilities of Mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy (MCBH), which is a form of CBT focusing on awareness in reflective approach with addressing of subconscious tendencies. It is more a process that contains basically three phases used for achieving desired goals.[10]

He has researched the idea of a "Scale of adaptability", which is defined as constant that shows human adaptability in relation to the surroundings. A survey conducted by Jakub, lead him to explore the idea.[11] He has also explored the theory of "Language DNA", which is based on research says that the voice has a unique frequency that significantly influences the body at the level of chemical processes.[12]

He was putting effort to get recognition of the field of hypnotherapy in the Czech Republic by simply defining standards and clues such as code of ethics.[13] Hypnotherapy is not regulated in the Czech Republic.[14]
