Géraldine Plaut (born 20 October 1971 in France), better known by her stage name Jalane, is a French singer, songwriter, dancer and producer.
She made a name for herself in 2000 with the singles "Millénaire" and "Lettre ouverte", taken from the soundtrack of the film Taxi 2. In 2002, she released her first self-titled album. The opus, generating four single extracts "Femmes (Cette fois, je sais)", "Ma musique", "Où va le monde" and "Oublie-le" (duet with Natho), is a success with more than 100 000 copies sold.
Early life[edit]
Her name "Jalane" is a tribute to his Guadeloupean uncle, Alan Shelly, a renowned Caribbean singer, who died a few years earlier. She left the family home very early and moved to Paris to try her luck in 1993, but in vain. She does a few featurings on various mixtapes, notably with Cut Killer, and participates in parallel in various projects.
