Jalgaon District Court is a district court in the city of Jalgaon in Maharashtra. It covers the judicial area of Jalgaon district in Maharashtra state. It was established in 1925 during the British rule of India.[1]
History[edit]
In 1906, Khandesh district was split by the British into two new districts: East Khandesh and West Khandesh. At that time East Khandesh had only an auxiliary court. The British government sanctioned money for the construction of a court and private bungalow for a district judge, but work halted during World War I. The district court was finally established and began to operate from 12 October 1925. It later moved to a new, larger building, specially constructed on the outskirts of the city.[1]
Administration[edit]
The Jalgaon District Court comes under the Aurangabad Bench of Mumbai High Court.[2]
