Jalopnik is an automotive news website and blog originally part of Gawker Media.[1] The site was purchased in August 2016 by Univision Communications with the rest of Gawker Media's assets, renamed to Gizmodo Media Group.[2] In April 2019 Gizmodo Media Group was purchased by Great Hill Partners and renamed to G/O Media.[3][1]
Jalopnik posts car reviews, car buying advice, opinions, and automotive news. Editor-in-Chief Patrick George stepped down on December 6, 2019 and was replaced by Michael Ballaban amid disagreements with new management under Great Hill Partners.[4][5][6]
