James Horncastle
James Horncastle is a writer and a broadcaster that specialises in Italian football who works BT Sport.
Horncastle speaks fluent Italian [1] having formerly lived in Rome[2] he started writing Serie B match reports for the Football Italia website[3] and is now a regular weekly pundit for BT Sport on their Champions League Goals Show and appeared weekly on their European Football Show for four years.[4][5][6][7]
As well as appearing weekly on British television Horncastle writes in English and Italian.[8] He has written for The Guardian,[9] the Daily Mirror,[10] The Daily Telegraph, [11] The Times,[12] The Independent,[13] The Blizzard, [14] Eurosport[15] and the Liverpool Echo[16]
He was reported by Forbes to be the first to break the $828m deal for A.C. Milan by Chinese investors from Silvio Berlusconi.[17]
He is used weekly as a European expert for BBC Radio 5 Live’s Euro leagues show with Mina Rzouki, Julien Laurens, and Raphael Honigstein.[18][19] He also produces columns for BBC Sport.[20]
He has contributed to Talksport,[21] The Anfield Wrap,[22] ESPN,[23] the A.S. Roma website,[24] Off The Ball[25] and FourFourTwo.[26]
For The Football Ramble Horncastle contributes weekly to their ‘On The Continent’ podcast.[27] Horncastle was a regular on the Football Weekly podcast and live shows.[28][29]
He is now a regular on ‘Golazzo’ for The Totally Football Show with James Richardson and Gabriele Marcotti[30] and has appeared as a guest at Totally Football live shows in England [31] and Ireland.[32] He has appeared on the panel at Gazzetta Football Italia live shows with James Richardson.[33][34]
