James L. Hall II, a.k.a. Jim Hall, is an executive in the insurance industry. He is CEO of Salty.[1][2]

Background

Hall began his career with AFLAC in the New England area. He then left AFLAC to begin his own firm, National Benefits Partner, where he specialized in designing insurance benefit packages exclusively for hospital and healthcare system employees. He left National Benefits in 2005, and has since continued his pursuit of a number of other entrepreneurial ventures.[3] He is the founder of Ebenefits.com, a web-based human resource benefits administration system. In 2006, he sold Ebenefits.com to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.[4]

Hall was a longstanding board member and the former CEO of Children's Miracle Network, a philanthropic organization dedicated to children and 170 children's hospitals in Canada, Ireland, United States and the United Kingdom. Hall also served as the Educational Chair of the Westminster Chapter of the Young Presidents' Organization in London.

Hall founded and led several organizations including Insurance Point, which provides insurance benefits to healthcare employees at hundreds of hospitals across the United States, sold to Arthur J. Gallagher & Co in July 2014; Ebenefits.com, a successful web-based human resource benefits administration system, sold to UPMC in 2007; and Versa Ventures, a management consulting and investment firm.[5]

Hall graduated from Westminster College with a BS in Business in 2009,[6] and completed an MBA at the University of Oxford.[7]

Fraud acquittal

In October 2009, Hall was acquitted of all charges related to a fraud accusation.[8][9][10] These charges stemmed from February 2008, when the State of Utah filed state felony charges against Hall, including fraud, theft, and unlawful dealing of property by a fiduciary. The charges claimed Hall diverted without authorization $400,000 from the trust account into his own personal account to obtain $1 million in financing for a home.[11][12]

Academic career

James Hall is currently an Associate Fellow at the Saïd Business School in Oxford, England.
