James Foster McCoubrey[2] (September 13, 1901 – July 5, 2013)[1] was a Canadian-born American supercentenarian, born in St. John's, Newfoundland which at that time was part of the British Empire and today Canada, and the oldest man ever born in Canada at the time of his death at age 111 years, 295 days.

On 23 May 2013, following the death of James Sisnett, he became the oldest living man in the Americas.[1]

He was believed to be the oldest living American man for less than a year, after Shelby Harris' death on July 25, 2012. He was also believed to be the oldest living man in the world for more than 3 weeks, after 116-year-old Japanese man Jiroemon Kimura's death on June 11, 2013.

McCoubrey died of complications of pneumonia in Walnut Creek, California, on July 5, 2013.

After his death, he was succeeded as the oldest living man by Jokichi Ikarashi, who was the oldest living Japanese man, however, the oldest living man was later verified to be Spanish-born American man Salustiano Sánchez.
