James Andrew Warby Pratt is an Australian actor, real estate auctioneer, film director, and entrepreneur.[1] [2][3][4] He is the recipient of various accolades, including: (2021) Best actor at the American Golden Picture International Film Festival,[5] (2020) Europe Film Festival – Special Jury Award,[6] and Next Rush Magazine’s 2019 Top 5 Under 35 in Australia for Entertainment.[7] He is also a three-time REB Australian Auctioneer of the Year Winner (2019, 2020, 2021).[8] [9][10][11][12][13][14]
Career
Film & Television
In his career, Pratt has worked alongside some of the best in Hollywood, including: Q'orianka Kilcher, Sam Worthington, and Erica Christensen.[16]
After receiving a degree from the acting school, NIDA in Sydney, Australia, Pratt landed roles in some of Australia’s best-known TV series, including Home & Away, Freemantle Media's Wonderland (where he played Gary in season 3), and the hit ABC drama Rake. Pratt also had a key role in the Logie-nominated film, The Battle of Long Tan. Pratt has also experienced success with the film UCLA Pranks, which was nominated for five international awards, including Best Director at the Top Director Awards. Pratt is the host of Conversation Hollywood, which was a finalist for Best Pilot/Episode at the 2020 Lift Off Awards.
2019—Pratt was voted Australia’s Top 5 Under 35.[17][18]
2020—Winner, Special Jury Award at the Europe Film Festival.[19]
February 2021—Winner, Best Supporting Actor at the American Golden International Film Festival for his portrayal of Ethan Rogers in the feature film On Halloween.[20]
2021—Pratt is the director and lead role in the feature film Malibu Crush.[21][22][23][24][25][26][27]

James has been a keynote speaker at several of the top film and television panels around the world, including:
- 2020 Futuristic Conference held in Toronto, Canada, speaking alongside Academy Award-nominated producer Cindy Cowan and Emmy-winning producer David Cormican.[28][29]

In May 2021, James hosted Mogul Productions’ record-breaking NFT event with Marvel Studios artist Rob Prior and guests including Cindy Cowan, David Cormican, Jesse Whellens, John Kars, and Teds Farnsworth. The event set a record for the highest-selling NFT, at $182,500 USD.[43][44]
Career Real Estate Auctioneering
Pratt’s career as an auctioneer has also been extraordinarily successful. He has a reputation for being one of the best in the world for auctioning celebrity and luxury homes. He currently holds 91 records and has won the REB Australian Auctioneer of the Year award a record three times in a row.[45][46][47][48][49][50][51][52][53][54][55]
In April 2018, Charlie Ebersol’s company, Theco, signed a contract with James for his own real estate show as a world-renowned auctioneer. Since 2017, James has served as Global Auctioneer Ambassador for Juwai, as well as serving as the CEO of James Pratt Auctions Group and an ambassador for Sohoapp.[56][57][58]

- In March 2019, James auctioned a house in the exclusive suburb of Double Bay in Sydney, securing a result $2 million above the reserve price.[60][61]
Entrepreneurship / World Records
In 2016, James was one of the first in the world, and also in Australia, to utilize Facebook Live streaming for real estate auctions.[62][63]
In April 2019, Pratt made history by becoming the first auctioneer in the world to auction real estate live with cryptocurrency when he auctioned the luxury property at 1 Beech Lane, Casuarina. The auction, which saw James’s own company, James Pratt Auctions, partner with some of the world’s top blockchain companies, including NuYen and Binance, broke records for marketing and audience levels. The property listing received over 180,000 online views in a week, and some of the world’s biggest influencers tweeted during the live auction, including BZ Finance.[64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72]
Charity Work
Since James first started auctioneering, he has helped spearhead charity and black-tie events with his auction skills. He has been a key figure in some of the biggest events internationally, including being the auctioneer for Channel Nine Gold Week in 2012 and 2013.[73]
In 2014, he was the host and auctioneer for the Heart Kids NSW Gala in 2014, 2017, and 2018. In 2014, he hosted the event alongside CNN reporter Lynda Kinkade.[74] He was also the Pyjama Foundation auctioneer for their 2017, 2018, and 2019 events.
