James Vincent Wilgus is an American drummer/keyboardist, composer, and music producer who was detained in Russia in November 2016 on a charge of indecent exposure.[1][2]
Life and career[edit]
Wilgus is from New Jersey, United States. He graduated in 1987 from Bernards High School in Bernardsville, New Jersey.[3] His band, Wicked Monkey, toured in Belarus and other countries in Europe during 2012-2013. Wilgus was the band's lead singer, drummer, composer and producer. He formed Wicked Monkey with lead guitarist Yury Nikolaev and bassist Darrell “DJ” Powell.[4]
Arrest and imprisonment[edit]
In November 2016, Wilgus was detained by Russian police on a charge of indecent exposure.[5][6] Wilgus was sentenced to 12.5 years in a Russian penal colony.[7]
