Jamey Blaze is an American record producer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Career[edit]

As a teenager, his uncle Pete Pontikoff (vocalist of Benümb) introduced him to the metal/punk scene at 924 Gilman Street, and other music scenes in the Bay Area and gave him the opportunity to do production jobs for his projects signed with Relapse Records.[1][2][3] In 2011 Blaze co-founded a band called This Is Why I Do This. Before finishing their first full length album,[4][5] they signed a seemingly non-exclusive record contract with Tate Publishing & Enterprises that year.[6][7][8] Their debut album, Aerophobia, was released May 2012 along with a music video for "Go", shot in Oklahoma City, OK.[9]

He is currently the drummer for Vantana Row with his wife Volly. Articles on them have been published by East Bay Express, SF Weekly, and WorldStarHipHop for their "drive-by" performances, where they perform from inside their van.[10][11][12][13][citation needed] On November 3, 2017, the Vantana Row van parked in front of Warfield Theatre several times and played for hundreds of lined up attendees of the Ministry and Death Grips concert in San Francisco, California.[14]
