Jamiat Talba-e-Islam Pakistan (Arabic: جمعیۃ طلباء اسلام‎, Urdu: جمعیت طلباء اسلام ‎) is an independent student organization of Pakistan under the supervision of Ulema-e-Haq i.e. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F)[1]. It was founded by some students on 19 October 1969 at Jamia Hammadia, Lahore, Pakistan. Jamiat Talba-e-Islam Pakistan is working in Pakistan to eliminate the non-Islamic elements and secularism from the curriculum and teachings of the educational institutions of Pakistan.

JTI was influenced mainly by the teachings of the Sheikh ul Hind Maulana Mehmood Hasan, Maulana Syed Husain Ahmad Madani, Maulana Ubaidullah Sindhi, Maulana Ahmed Saeed Dehlvi, Mufti Kifayatullah Dehlavi, Mufti Muhammad Naeem Ludhianvi, Maulana Ahmed Ali Lahori, Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri, Syed Ataullah Shah Bukhari and Maulana Mufti Mehmood. It is an Islamic orgaion whose stated mission is to preach Islam to students of modern institutions throughout Pakistan. The headquarters of Jamiat Talba-e-Islam Pakistan is in the city of Lahore. Jamiat Talba-e-Islam's ideology is not based on any language and ethnic origin.[2]

Organizational structure[edit]

Mua'vin - Any student of any class or youngster who's age is bellow 22 years can join as Mua'vin.

Member - Any full-time student of a college or university who is above matric or 10th grade and also passed 2 years as Mua'vin can register as a regular member of the organization. Lower than matric or 10th grade will remain part of the organization as Mua'vin.

Unit - Any university or a college or locality having 10 or more members who agree with the mission objectives of the organization can come together to constitute a Unit. They can elect a President and General Secretary among themselves after a voting process of choosing between the five most eligible candidates. The elected President and General Secretary can then formulate a cabinet.

District and Provinces - Units are supervised and managed by Districts while Districts are supervised and managed by Provinces of JTI Pakistan. JTI Pakistan's District and Provinces follow almost the same geographical layout as the official Districts of Pakistan. Current Provinces of JTI Pakistan are Sindh, Panjab, Balochistan and KPK moreover Ex. FATA, Gilgit Baltistan and Capital City Islamabad is also associated as Province in organizational setup.

Centre / Markaz - Provinces are all supervised by JTI Pakistan's Centre or Markaz headquartered at Lahore, Pakistan. The Center consists of the Central President elected 3 yearly at a Convention. The Central President, himself a student also has a cabinet of students from across the country. The Central cabinet lasts for a duration of three years.

Motive[edit]

Established in 19 October, 1969, the Jamiat Talba-e-Islam Pakistan, commonly known as the JTI Pakistan, has established itself as one of the largest students’ organisations in almost all major educational institutes i.e. Colleges, Universities and Madrasas in the country. From its humble beginnings at Lahore it also has established units in localities where students exist in considerable numbers.

JTI Pakistan primarily focuses on Islamic led guidance and religious upbringing of students under the supervision of Religious Scholars. As an established organization it has a set of principles and a written constitution to which student members must abide by.

JTI Pakistan regulates itself through an executive council (Majlis-e-Amla) which also acts as its legislative council. At the lower level the Organization implements its agenda through its Provinces to Districts and Units. Here it is regulated by a general body council (Majlis-e-Amoomi).

However the bulk of the organization is represented by its units which comprise 10 or more students in a locality. Also students of matriculation and below are represented by its Mua'vineen.

The students engage in educational upbringing and development through a set of local and regional activities which are managed and self funded through the organizations large local donor base. Often students engage in self preparatory learning, sports events and organizing Ijtimaa, Seminar and discussions on youth affairs and current regional and international affairs.

The organization in its motto strives to develop its base as law abiding Pakistani students who will defend the country’s core ideological base and its geographical boundaries.
