Jamie Anderson is an American director, writer, and actor[1] best known for her work writing and directing the award-winning "Punching Bag"[2] and "I’m F%$#ing Fine"[3] short films.

Education

Jamie studied at University of Florida for 2 years before she began studying acting in Los Angeles with Larry Moss (acting coach) and then studied writing under teacher Pilar Allesandra of OnThePage.com[4]

Career

After a career of acting in film and television, doing guest appearances in shows like Modern Family (Season 4, Episode 12, Party Crasher), Happy Endings (TV series) (Season 2, Episode 6, Lying Around), and supporting roles (role of Ilene Anderson) in the film Catch Me If You Can, Jamie turned her focus to her writing and directing career.[5]

She had her first movie optioned by Radar Pictures in 2012. In June 2015, she won the TrackingB writing contest[6] with her comedy pilot, “Pushing 40”, now titled “Pumas”. In 2016, she won a writing scholarship to Rocaberti Writers Retreat in Spain for her dark comedy feature “You Be You”. In 2016, she had a female-driven comedy feature film go into development at [7]. In 2017, her film “Pregnant in Las Vegas” went into development at Patriot Pictures. On November 29, 2017, it was announced that Jamie was one of the “Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch in 2018” by networkisa.org.[8].

On March 10, 2018, she won best director for film “Punching Bag” at[9]. On March 24, 2018, “Punching Bag” was nominated for best dark comedy at [10]. On August 17, 2018, “Punching Bag” was an official selection, and screened at [11], at the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. On October 11, 2018, “Punching Bag” screened at [12] in Vermont. On November 15, 2018, “Punching Bag” screened at [13].

In December 2018, Jamie's new short film “I’m F%$#ing Fine” won[14] the prestigious Vitruvian Award from DaVinci Film Festival [15], and screened in Santa Monica June 2019. In January 2019, Jamie was hired to direct “I Won’t Say I Love You” in the UK, filming commences March 25th, 2019.
