Jamie Chua (Chinese: 蔡欣颖) is a Singaporean businesswoman and socialite.

Career[edit]

Chua worked as a flight attendant for Singapore airlines.[1] After marrying, Chua stopped working for the airline and joined her husband in business. She and her husband owned a shoe company together called Cloud 9 Lifestyle.[2] In 2007 Chua opened the first Manolo Blahnik shoe boutique in South-east Asia at the Hilton Hotel. She opened another at the Marina Bay Sands in 2010.[3]

Chua owns her own skincare line, Luminous1 by Jamie Chua,[4][5][6] which was launched in 2015.[7][8] She also co-owned The Closet Raider with her ex-business partner Sharon Tang, a luxury goods resale business, which she sued against and was ordered by the judge to pay the plaintiff the sum of SGD $7,500.[9] She is the brand ambassador and co-owner of Q Aesthetics Clinic.[10][11]

Personal life[edit]

When Chua was twenty years old she met Indonesian businessman Nurdian Cuaca while working as a flight attendant.[8] They later married and had two children, Calista and Cleveland.[8][12][13] Her husband became a billionaire from business ventures and real estate investments.[14] After fifteen years of marriage Chua filed for divorce in February 2010 after Cuaca reportedly had an affair.[14][5] Chua fought to receive a $450,000 monthly alimony.[15][7] The divorce was settled out of court in 2011 after Chua had frozen her husband's assets and received an unspecified amount of money and properties in the separation.[8]

In March 2018 Chua was featured on Insider Inc.'s web series Bonkers Closets, where she gave a tour of her 700 square foot closet.[16][17][18][19] She reportedly owns the largest Hermès Birkin bag collection in the world.[8][20][21][22]

She has a large online following, with over 1,000,000 followers on Instagram.[23]
