Jamless Play
From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki
Jamless Play is a feature used in more recent optical drives by Hitachi-LG Data Storage (HL-DT-ST), which aims to smooth out playback of damaged DVD-Video discs by returning data in damaged sectors as healthy to the computer and prevent delays caused by getting stuck on damaged sectors.
A fatal disadvantage of this technology is it possibly returning damaged data as healthy if the user's intention is to recover healthy data from damaged media.
