Jan Peder Jalland (born 1980) is a Norwegian football manager.
Hailing from Nykirke, he is a brother of Jørgen Jalland.[1][2] He played youth football for Ørn-Horten and 3. Divisjon football for Borre IF and from 2002 Fossum IF.[3][4] Turning to coaching already at age 24, Jalland coached Borre from 2004 through 2006, and then Nesodden IF in 2007 and 2008. He led Nesodden to the highest league placement in the club's history.[5][6][1]
He was hired as junior coach in Stabæk and also employed at Nadderud Upper Secondary School which at the time had a programme for elite football. Following a successful tenure, he was promoted to assistant manager for the senior team ahead of the 2013 season. Serving under Petter Belsvik,[1][2] he continued serving under Bob Bradley, Billy McKinlay, Toni Ordinas and Henning Berg while also working at the Norwegian School of Elite Sport.
His stint in Stabæk included short spells as caretaker manager between the mentioned managers, among others one Eliteserien match in 2018 between Ordinas and Berg.[7] In 2018 he obtained the UEFA Pro Licence.[8] In early 2019 he was hired as head coach of the Norway u-15, u-16 and u-17 national teams,[9][10] coaching his first matches in February 2019.[11]
