Morten Kristiansen (born 11 July 1963) is a Norwegian football coach and former player. His last position as coach was as head coach of the Norwegian women's 2. divisjon club Molde.[1]
Playing career[edit]
Early career[edit]
He started his senior career at Jerv in 1986 and moved to Aalesund ahead of the 1987 season where he stayed for two seasons.[citation needed]
Molde[edit]
Kristiansen played five seasons at Molde. He made his debut for the club on 30 April 1989 in Moldes 0–1 loss away to Kongsvinger in the 1989 1. divisjon.[2] On 25 June 1989, he scored his first goal for Molde in the club's 2–1 win away against Sogndal.[3] Kristiansen played 104 league games and scored 6 league goals from 1989 to 1993. Kristiansen was in the starting lineups in both finals of the 1989 Norwegian Cup where Molde drew 2–2 against Viking in the first final and lost 1–2 in the replay. Aged 30, he retired from top level football in 1993 due to an injury to his Achilles tendon.[4]
Coaching career[edit]
Kristiansen coached Træff between 1996 and 1998.[5] Under head coach Erik Brakstad, Kristiansen was assistant coach for Molde's men's team in the 2000 season.[4] Ahead of the 2018 season, he became head coach of Molde's women team.
Personal life[edit]
Morten Kristiansen is the father of Kaja Kristiansen, a former Molde player.[4]
