Air Vice Marshal Janak Wanigatunge (also known as Janak Prasanna Wanigatunge) USP, BSc, MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, psc was the Director of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering for the Sri Lanka Air Force and retired in 2017.[1]

Early life[edit]
Born in 1962, Wanigatunge completed secondary schooling at Nalanda College, Colombo and then joined General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University as a service cadet.
Career[edit]
In 1984 after graduating with a bachelor's degree in Science BSc from the University of Colombo Wanigatunge was commissioned in the Electronics Engineering Branch as a Pilot officer.
Wanigatunge is a recipient of service medals such as Uttama Seva Padakkama, Long Services Medal and Clasp, Riviresa Campaign Services Medal, Northern Humanitarian Operations Medal, Eastern Humanitarian Operations Medal, 50th Independence Anniversary Medal, Purna Bhumi Padakkama, SLAF 50th Anniversary Medal.
