Dr. Janaky Sreedharan is an author, translator, and academic from Kerala.[1] She is a professor at the Department of English in the University of Calicut.[2][3] Her specialization is in the field of gender, media and culture.[4] She has published a number of books and articles that have contributed to the respective fields.

She did her research at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) between 1986 and 1993.[5]

Sreedharan is married to the Indian filmmaker, critic, philosopher, and writer, K. Gopinathan. They have a daughter.

Dr. Janaky Sreedharan has translated the following books:
- Translation of Feminist Aesthetics into Malayalam in 1995.
- Translation of The Cave by Jose Saramago as Guha into Malayalam from English in 2016.
- Translation of Out Stealing Horses by Per Peterson as Kuthiravetta in Malayalam by DC books 2010.[6]

- Review of the book On Unruly Figures: Queerness, Sex Work, and the Politics of Sexuality in Kerala by Navaneetha Mokkil.[7]
