Janine Machin

Janine Machin (born 24 February 1978) is an English radio and TV presenter based in Cambridge. Machin was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, where her parents owned a local dairy.[1] She attended Newcastle-under-Lyme School and graduated from Oxford University.

Broadcasting career[edit]

Machin began her media work in Staffordshire and Cheshire as the hostess of the breakfast show on BBC Radio Stoke. She joined the radio station in 1999 as a telephone answerer and then in 2002, she became co-presenter of the breakfast show along with Kevin Fernihough. After Fernihough's departure in 2004 to BBC Radio Northampton, Machin hosted the show as its sole presenter.

In 2007, Janice Machin joined BBC Look East based in Cambridge as a presenter and reporter for the BBC's Look East's "Close Up" service. She retained a position fronting the programme after its regional divisions were altered in 2018.[1][2][3]
