Jaouad Kouraty (Arabic: جواد كوراتي) is a French-Moroccan professional basketball player,[2] and entrepreneur. He is known for Loft Qatar, Mr. Jay Concierge, El Jaish SC and the Moroccan National Team.
Early life and education
Now based in Doha, Qatar, Kouraty was born in Gennevilliers, France. He got his High School Diploma / General Qualification for University Entrance in 2004. In 2019, he became a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) Level 2.
Career
Kouraty began playing basketball at the age of 5. Later, he joined the Levallois Sporting Club Basketball training academy for further training. In 2004, Kouraty signed his first professional contract with ESSM Le Portel, a club competing in the French basketball leagues. That same year, he was called to the Moroccan national team, representing his heritage internationally. From 2008 to 2018, he played for El Jaish SC, a Division 1 basketball team in Qatar.[3][4][5]
Entrepreneurship
During his playing career, he started his entrepreneurial career. In 2010, he founded Mr Jay, a luxury concierge brand exclusively for athletes that offers elite access to events, tailored travel, and lifestyle management services. He also co-founded Loft Qatar, a high-end sneaker and cafe boutique based in Doha that merges luxury retail and modern culture.
