Jared Mazzola (born January 24, 1999) is an American soccer player who plays for Sacramento Republic in the USL Championship.
Career[edit]
Youth, college & amateur[edit]
Mazzola played with USSDA side FC Westchester between 2008 and 2016, where he was a team captain for all eight years. He also spent time with New York Soccer Club, where he helped the team to be EDP/NPL Winners Northeast Division, and finish as finalists at the NPL Finals in July 2017.[1][2][3]
In 2017, Mazzola attended Virginia Commonwealth University to play college soccer, but redshirted the entire season.[4] In 2018, he transferred to Quinnipiac University and went on to play four seasons with the Bobcats making 43 appearances in total, including a truncated 2020–21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[5] As a junior, he was named All-MAAC Second Team. He was also later named MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year, All-MAAC Team, and MAAC All-Academic Team in his senior year.[3]
While at college, Mazzola spent some of the 2019 season with National Premier Soccer League side Kingston Stockade, where he made five appearances.[6][7] He made his first start for Kingston against Rhode Island Reds on May 21, 2019.[8] IUn 2021, Mazzola joined USL League Two side New York Red Bulls U23 during their summer season and made five appearances.[9]
Following college, Mazzola spent further time in the USL League Two with AFC Ann Arbor, where he played in three games for the club and conceded two goals.[10][11]
Professional[edit]
On August 19, 2022, Mazzola signed his first professional contract with USL League One side Greenville Triumph.[12][13] On January 6, 2023, Mazzola re-signed with Greenville for their 2023 season.[14]
Mazzola joined USL Championship club Sacramento Republic in November 2023.[15]
