Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi (born 26 June 1992 in Amman) is a Jordanian Mixed Martial Artist who competes in the Super Welterweight division in BRAVE Combat Federation.
Having started in amateur MMA in 2012, Al-Silawi made his professional debut in 2013 in the regional Middle Eastern scene. He made his transition to international MMA in 2016, when he joined BRAVE CF, and became the Bahrain-based promotion Super Welterweight world champion for the first time in 2018.
After losing the title to Abdoul Abdouraguimov in April 2019, Al-Silawi won the rematch held five months later.
Career
Amateur
Al-Silawi began his career as an amateur MMA fighter at Cage Warrior in May 2012 where he fought in a Welterweight bout against Houthaifa Gdouda and won through KO/TKO at 0:47 of the first round.[1] Four months after his victory, he had another fight on September against Malek Aouissaoui and again won by TKO in the first round.[2]
In May 2013, the local promotion Cage Warrior gave him another fight at the CWFC - Fight Night 8 where he secured another win against Stephen Owens by split decision at the 3rd round.[3] He ended his amateur career in October 2013 by securing another win against Khaled Gabr by submission at the 3rd round at the CWFC - Fight Night 9 event.[4]
Professional
Cage Warrior
Jarrah Al-Silawi made his professional Mixed Martial Arts debut in December 2013, when the British MMA promotion Cage Warriors held an event in his home country of Jordan. On that occasion, Al-Silawi knocked out James Burrows in 33 seconds.[5] On the event of CWFC - Fight Night 10, Jarrah recorded his first career loss against Carl Booth by a KO punch at the first round.[6] In his final fight at Cage Warrior in August 2014 he won against Ant Davies by Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at the 2nd Round.
Gladiator Fighting Championship
When his contract with Cage Warriors ended, he entered the Gladiator Fighting Championship in November 2014 and won against Ahmad Ibrahim.[citation needed]
Desert Force Championship
Al-Silawi made his debut in Desert Force at the Desert Force 15 in February 2015 in Abu Dhabi.[7] He recorded a win against Mohammad Fakhreddine through submission (kimura) in the 2nd round. At the event of Desert Force 17 - Homecoming which took place in May 2015, Jarrah had a fight against Mohamed Sayah where he recorded another win by TKO punch at the 2nd round, adding to his win record. After his last fight, Jarrah spent some months training at gyms and in January 2016 at the event of Desert Force 20 - Dubai, he had a rematch with Mohammad Fakhreddine where recorded a second loss in his career through split decision at the 3rd round.[8] Jarrah ended his fight contract at Desert Force with two straight wins at the Desert Force 22 - Jordan and Desert Force 24 - Abu Dhabi[9] respectively.
BRAVE Combat Federation
After signing his first international professional contract with BRAVE CF in the Welterweight division, Jarrah Al-Silawi made his debut at the Brave CF 2 - Dynasty[10] event which took place in the Kingdom of Bahrain in December 2016. At the event, he recorded his first win at BRAVE CF against Erik Carlsson through a Submission (Kimura) at the second Round.[11] In March 2017, he won against Daniele Scatizzi at Brave CF 4 - Unstoppable.[12] From here, Jarrah recorded 3 straight wins at BRAVE CF in the events of Brave CF 9 - "The Kingdom of Champions",[13] Brave CF 10 - "The Kingdom Rises"[14] and Brave CF 12 - "KHK Legacy"[15] respectively.
Jarrah became the BRAVE CF Welterweight champion in September 2018 at Brave CF 16 - "Abu Dhabi" by winning against Carlston Lindsay Harris by TKO at the first Round. He lost the title to Abdoul Abdouraguimov by split decision at the 5th Round in April 2019 at the Brave CF 23 - "Pride & Honor".[16] In October 2019, he regained the title at Brave CF 27 - "Abdouraguimov vs. Al-Silawi".[17]
In October 2020, he was challenged at Brave CF 43 by Melvin van Suijdam,[18] winning in the 3rd round by unanimous decision.[19]
In April 2021 at the Brave CF 50 - "Brave Combat Federation 50" event, Al-Silawi defended his Welterweight champion title against Ismail Naurdiev,[20] winning in the second round by TKO.[21]
