Jasmine Simpkins is a television host, reporter, producer and content creator. Currently, she is a senior producer and on-camera correspondent for HipHollywood.com, where she hosts movie specials and celebrity interviews. She also offers pop culture commentary on the cable news channels HLN and TV One.
Career[edit]
Simpkins is a Los Angeles native who graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles.
She helped the Starz network produce other segments and original programming, including the documentary 11-04-08: The Day of Change,[1] about the day President Barack Obama was elected the first African American President of the United States.
In 2011, Simpkins became an on-camera host and reporter for Kevin Frazier's HipHollywood.com entertainment website. She produces and writes the content she creates for HipHollywood.com.[2]
In 2013, Simpkins became a guest contributor on Jillian Barberie’s short-lived magazine show The Hollywood Mix. On the series, she provided commentary on current events and entertainment stories.
She later became a host and producer for TV One. For four years, she contributed weekly entertainment interstitial programs that ran on the network, and made appearances on the cable channel's news magazine series, News One Now with Roland Martin (journalist).[3]
