Jason Lee (born 16 April 1996), is a singer-songwriter from Brookfield, Illinois, United States. His debut single Frustration was released in January 2015 and featured on DIY (magazine).[1]
Early life[edit]
Jason Lee was born on April 16, 1996 in Chicago, Illinois. His grandfather taught him how to play the guitar at a young age and later began taking guitar lessons at a local guitar shop near his home. He would eventually start listening through his father’s records collection. During his teenage years he became interested in recording music.
Career[edit]
It was during high school that he and his friends decided to create a band and name it Bleached By The Sun after overhearing a hair bleach conversation in a classroom. Together they would eventually break apart and he pursued to write and record the first songs for the EP. "Smile EP" released on January 2014[2] on indie label Sneaky Records[3] and recognized on This Is Underground.[4] Soon after he would release "Stuck In My Head" in March 2014.[5]
"Loyalty Oaths", a 12 track album debuted on August 2014[6] along with single "Unreal"[7] both ending the project.
On January 19, 2015 single "Frustration"[8] was self released. It gained praise on DIY (magazine) the same day. February 2015 he released single "Will You Miss Me Too". It was quickly featured on various blogs such as Hate Waves,[9] Buried Muse,[10] and others. The single received play on the heavy rotation list on Radio 3fach soon after. The same month "Awake" was released.
In April 2015 the EP "Ghost"[11] was released and was suggest by fans as being a portent. When the single off the EP "Just For Me" was in May 2015 it was recognized by Claude Strilio of the band Anything Box. It was featured in a podcast on Indie 500 Radio.[12]
On August 2015 "We Won't Belong"[13] was released and given traction from various blogs and plays on independent radio stations.
