Jason McArthur (born February 26, 1997) is a Canadian digital content creator, entrepreneur, and ice hockey goaltender. McArthur previously played with the Fanshawe Falcons of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and the Lucan Irish of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL). McArthur is also the producer of The Cam & Strick Podcast, hosted by Cam Janssen and Andy Strickland.
Playing career[edit]
The notable portions of McArthur's hockey career were split between the Falcons and Irish, though his time in junior hockey was short-lived. McArthur signed with the Irish on August 1, 2017.[2] He appeared in 10 games during the 2017-18 season, seeing an average of 42.5 shots per game, going winless through 9.[3][4]
During a game against the Lambeth Lancers, McArthur was injured after taking a slapshot to the head.[5] McArthur finished the game, stopping 39 of 48 shots.[6] He did not return to the Irish following his recovery and was traded to the championship contending North Middlesex Stars, though he did not see ice time again that season.[7] McArthur did not meet the PJHL overage requirements and quietly finished his junior hockey career before transitioning to college ice hockey.[8]
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the OCAA cancelled most of the 2019-2020 season and the entire 2020-21 season.[9] McArthur subsequently has been unable to play since 2019.
Personal Life[edit]
McArthur was born in Sarnia, Ontario.
