Jason Allan Scott (born 16 April 1975 in Cape Town, South Africa) is an award winning event professional, founder and director of a sales and marketing consultancy firm specialising in venue sales, an entrepreneurial consultant, Speaker, Writer, Contributor, Start up impresario and a part of Tim Ferris’s NR set.[1] He is founding mentor of Fast Forward15 and a member of MPI.[2] He has been voted number 1 on Double Dutch 250 people in Events and top 10% of social media in events in the world.[3] He has been a best selling author on Amazon for the book The Event Professional's Handbook: The Secrets of Successful Events.[4]

Education[edit]

Scott attended the University of South Africa where he studied B.Ed with honors and achieved a Masters in clinical Psychology specializing in Early childhood development.[5]

Career[edit]

Scott started as Graduate Diploma in Radio Broadcast and Radio Management at Cape Technikon, followed by working as a Radio Broadcaster, Cape Town, South Africa at Bush Radio and Good Hope FM in 2004 before starting a paparatzi company, buying and selling images.[6] He is a contributing writer for Liz King Events, The Event Manager Blog, Blood Sweat and Fashion, Glam.com and Prestige Events Magazine. He also authored "The Eventrepreneur (2015)". Scott acted in the film Red Water, a 2003 made for television horror film starring Lou Diamond Phillips. Scott helped with the film, Away We Stay with David Gandy and Helena Christensen.[7][8] Jason also serves as the Vice President for the International Live Events Association (ILEA) in UK.[9][10][11] He founded VenueMe, an event technology. Outside of his business, Scott writes and podcasts for various industry publications and is a mentor on Fay Sharpe's career scheme, FastForward15.

Jason Scott is the first person in event history to make a million in revenue in events in 5 months.[12] He is sales and marketing director for Bloomsbury Ballroom. Scott has brought in more than £1m in revenue to the venue in five months, which is the highest amount ever achieved. Scott is the first person to make a million in 12 months using his social media strategy.[13]

Serial Entrepreneur[edit]

Scott co-founded Miss Clubs, Eco Disco, Sunshine and Sandals event company, Hollywood Inc, Changemaker Enterprises, The Guestlist Podcast,[14] Event Academy, Lord Jason Scott Events Ltd, Non Invasives and Cool Body Sculpting Cape Town. He is also co-founder of a SaaS product that folk in silicon valley are already calling, "The Uber of events for venues and venues for events!".[15][16][17]

Accolades[edit]

Scott has been voted in the top 100 most influential people in events, three times by Haymarket media, events magazine most recently in 2015.[24] He was named as The 100 most influential people in the event industry by Event (magazine) and Top 40 under 40 by Prestige Events Magazine. He ranked 4 in the Top 100 Startup Experts to Follow by Evan Carmichael.[25] He has been voted top 100 in events, and is the first person to be nominated twice on the top 100 in one year.[22] Jason was voted as one of the 54 Must-Follow Event & Wedding Planning Twitter Accounts for 2014.[26]
