Jasper Armstrong Marsalis (born December 26, 1995), also known by his aliases Slauson Malone and Slauson Malone 1, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and visual artist. Formerly a member of the music collective Standing on the Corner, Marsalis made his debut as a solo artist under the Slauson Malone moniker in April 2019 with the album A Quiet Farwell, 2016–2018 (Crater Speak). He released his second album Excelsior as Slauson Malone 1 on October 6, 2023 through Warp Records.

Early life

Jasper Armstrong Marsalis was born on December 26, 1995, in Los Angeles, California, to jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and actress Victoria Rowell.[1] His grandfather is jazz pianist and educator Ellis Marsalis.[2] Marsalis graduated from the Cooper Union in New York City in 2017.[3]
