Thirty Poems for Children[edit]

His poetry collection Thirty Poems for Children winner of the Sheikh Zayed Award for children's literature 2013-2014 is known for its musical rhythm and its distinctive use of language. His poetry collection uses a simple Arabic language to bring moral values closer to the children. At the beginning was published monthly in the magazines Ahmad and Toot both issued by Dar al-Hadai’q. Those poems have covered various topics. Later on Fakhr al-Din chose 30 of those poems to be published in his book, Thirty Poems for Children.

The Sheikh Zayed Book Award organized a seminar with the poet Fakhr al-Din as part of the cultural award program at the Abu Dhabi International Book fair held in Abu Dhabi's national Exhibition center.[8] The seminar was held on Saturday 3 May at the k50 dialogue forum in the fair's headquarters. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Mohamed Bennis, member of the scientific committee of Sheikh Zayed Book Award. Those interested in literature and poetry were able to talk to the Lebanese poet and learn about his experience with writing poetry for children.

He received this award for how his poems encouraged thinking positively and encouraged children to use their imagination and to observe. In addition, the language that the writer uses in his poems is simple and the rhythm creates a sense of serenity. The diversity of the poems and the ideas they discuss increase the contemplative outcome in children.

The language of the poems is easy and appropriate for children. They are also aesthetic and send educational messages that suit the understanding of children, and encourage them to imagine and use their senses.[2]
