Jay Izso, born Julius Henry Izso (February 21, 1964) is an American award-winning author, radio/TV personality and motivational speaker. Izso is known for his self-help books including Got Social Mediaology? Using Psychology to Master Social Media for Your Business Without Spending a Dime..[1] Izso was also a voice actor in the 1998 video game Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate.[2]

Career[edit]

Izso graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 1987 from Doane University, a private liberal arts college in Crete, Nebraska. His activities included football, the Doane Players Acting Troupe and he made the Dean’s List.[3] He also graduated with a M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Washington State University in 1989. During graduate school, Izso worked in the Human Behavior Laboratory, as a Human Behavior Analyst, Statistical Analyst, Experimental Psychology Human Performance Analyst and was a member of the Western Psychological Association Human Factors Research[3].

From 1992 up until 1996, Izso worked as an academic coordinator and assistant professor at North Carolina State University.[3]

From March 2010 to March 2014, Izso worked as a professor of Psychology at ECPI University where he taught courses on introductory psychology, developmental psychology culture and diversity, research methods, career orientation, LPN orientation, nursing developmental psychology and instructor training courses.

In 2007, Izso founded his company Internet Doctor LLC.[4] As a motivational speaker for his company, Jay speaks on subjects relating to consumer psychology, leadership, sales, business psychology, sales psychology, buying psychology, marketing strategy, sales strategy, systems strategy, social media and the Internet.[5] An article appeared in the May 2015 issue of 919 Magazine called Izso a "digital media expert".[6]

His specialties include: business performance enhancement, conference speaking, consumer analysis, social media marketing, leadership training, team building, target marketing, professional training, social media application and diversity training.[5]

Izso has also worked as the Broker in Charge for Linda Craft & Team, REALTORS for the past five years and for Craft Commercial for one year.

Awards[edit]

During his time at Washington State University, Izso was a nominee for the Graduate Instructor of the Year Award[3].

His books have been awarded the National Silver Medal for Psychology Books in April 2016[7] and the National Gold Medal for Business/Career/Sales Books in May 2015[8]

Radio and TV Appearances[edit]

Izso is regularly interviewed as an expert on topics such as psychology, social media and consumer psychology for radio, TV and newspapers. He has been a Guest Expert on OAN Liz Wheeler’s “Tipping Point” where he discussed the role of social media in politics[9]

In 2015, Izso was a co-host on WS Radio with Nicole Rodrigues of NRPR to discuss the role of brands connecting with real people as a marketing strategy for businesses[10]

Cyrus Webb, host of #ConversationsLive, interviewed Izso to discuss his book Got Social Mediaology? and what it’s been like showing people how to use social media to better their business[11]

He has appeared as a guest author for Entrepreneur Magazine with his article titled Right Business, Wrong Social Media Culture. He discussed topics of social media culture and how it relates to business for entrepreneurs.

Izso has also appeared on CBS North Carolina to discuss his book and the Jiggy Jaguar Show where he interviewed Melissa Francis of Fox Business News on her book titled Lessons from the Prairie[12]

Organizations[edit]

Izso has belonged to the National Speakers Association[13] since May 2017, the Society for Consulting Psychology since January 2015, the American Psychological Association since January 2010, the Association for Consumer Research since January 2008 and the National Association of Realtors as a Broker since December 1997.
