Joseph William Mohney (born September 7, 1995), known professionally as Jay Vinchi, is an American Recording Artist, Songwriter, and Producer from Michigan. He is known for his unique musical styles that vary between Hip Hop, Electronic, and Soul.

Early life[edit]

Vinchi was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on September 7, 1995 and then raised by his mother and father in Troy, Michigan through his teen years. He began creating music at the age of 13 after many years of influence from his family and several rock, pop, and rap influences. During his younger days, he would rewrite popular hit songs and craft new melodies to their verses. He spent most of his childhood playing sports and creating music in his spare time.

Career[edit]

Jay began release music at the age of 18 through the popular app Soundcloud and began to develop an internet following. The success of his initial releases led him to his debut single "Just Another Day" which landed him on the radar as an independent artist.[1] He then teamed up with Kyle Mack and supplied the soundtrack for his 2015 season edit which landed itself on Transworld Snowboarding[2] and Snowboarder Magazine.[3]

The first visual off of his debut project titled "What I Please (feat. Sol'Le)" was then featured by Hot 97 on their official website.[4] The release of his next music video "Kids" landed him features on This Is 50, a blog owned by 50 Cent[5] as well as the online multimedia creative collective So Raspy owned by Jadakiss.[6] Jay was interviewed by The Detroit News regarding his residency with Assemble Sound and his unique varying styles.[7]

Visual artist career[edit]

In August 2015, Bounded Vision began creating media for artists and athletes. Jay has visually covered Griz, Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, Borgore, Party Theives, Boombox Cartel, Michal Menert, Mija, Manic Science, Ghastly, Mr. Carmack, Space Jesus, Minnesota, Freddy Todd, Gosh Pith, and Golf Clap.
