Jay Wynn (born 1980 or 1981)[1] is a singer from Gloucester who reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent in 2017 dressed as a robot.

Biography[edit]

Wynn is a care worker and science fiction fan who won first prize at the 2017 Gloucester Comic Con for a giant robot costume made of scrap cardboard[2] which requires him to stand on stilts when wearing it.[1][3] In March 2018, Tom Davis wore a seven-foot robot costume commissioned from Wynn in an episode of Action Team.[4]

Britain's Got Talent[edit]

Wynn auditioned for the 11th series of Britain's Got Talent in 2017, singing "Take on Me" by a-ha. Simon Cowell then pressed his buzzer. However, he received three yeses and made it to the live semi-finals.[1][5] In his semi-final, he performed "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone. Two judges pressed their buzzers during his performance.[6][7] He finished in last place in the public voting and so was eliminated.
