Jayakrishnan Pillai is a media entrepreneur, innovator and founder of ViaKochi.com[1][2].

Early years[edit]

Jayakrishnan was born in Pandalam, in Kerala state, India and brought up in Vapi and Mumbai. In 2014, in association with Yuvraj Singh[3] he initiated a nationwide cancer awareness campaign for the YouWeCan foundation, the campaign reached out to over 50,000 students in India across 40 campuses. In 2018, he started Slow Claps Media, a creative agency focused on doing socially relevant campaigns and projects. My Classroom Campaign [4] is one such initiative which identifies underprivileged schools and works towards the development of the students and the community around. After the Kerala Floods, in 2018, in association with Sunny Varkey, he initiated a drive to redevelop the schools affected by floods. [5] He is also the founder of the Kochi based print and digital platform Via Kochi.

Projects[edit]

Pillai throughout his career has been involved in various campaigns and initiatives. In 2015, he started an initiative called One Frame Stories[6] to encourage creative writing and make people understand the importance of acceptance. One Frame Stories has more than 1200 writers and over 4800 stories. His My Classroom campaign has redeveloped and beautified over 60 schools across the country. In association with Zuvius, he conceptualised a campaign called The Pink Street [7]. The project was involved in creating India's largest handprinted cancer awareness ribbon and was featured in the Limca Book of Records 2019 edition.[8][9]
