Jean-Pierre Murray-Kline (born September 15, 1983) is a South African entrepreneur, author, and keynote speaker. He has founded several technology and media companies, including Alkebulan Online. Murray-Kline writes and speaks on topics related to digital transformation, online reputation, and environmental technology.
Early life and education
Murray-Kline was born in 1983 and developed an early interest in technology, learning about computer hardware and software. He has stated that his interest was partly influenced by a rare eye condition called Duane’s Eye Syndrome.[1]
He is also involved in community initiatives, including the College of Magic’s[2] “Sponsor a Student” program, which provides opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to learn the art of magic and performance skills.
Career
In 2002, at the age of 19, Murray-Kline founded his first business, a web development firm. He later established:
- lawyers-online.co.za, a service connecting the public with legal professionals.[3]
- entertainment-online.co.za, a South African entertainment agency.[4]
- websitedesign.co.za, a website hosting service.[5]
His online ventures span sectors including law, web & app development, events & entertainment, property, technical services, media and tourism.
Keynote speaking and consultancy
Murray-Kline is an active keynote speaker[6] and consultant, addressing topics such as: artificial intelligence, automation, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things, e‑law, e‑health, cybersecurity, blockchain, smart cities, sustainability, global warming, circular economy, and renewable energy.[7]
He has delivered speeches at events such as the 89th NCM AGM & Congress[8] and South African Institute of Auctioneering,[9] discussing digital transformation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and environmental sustainability.

In addition to his business activities, Murray-Kline is a published author. His books, Future-Thinking 2021,[10] Future-Thinking 2022-2023[11] and Future-Thinking 2024-2025,[12] examine trends in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
