From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Jean Stewart (1953)[1] is an American author of science fiction novels. Her Isis books have thrice been finalists for the Lambda Literary Award for Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror.[2][3][4]

Personal life

Jean Stewart was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She grew up loving all sports, enthralled with nature and music. She spent years trying to achieve her childhood dream of reading every book in the Swarthmore Library, and is afflicted with a voracious appetite for books.

She taught school, coached hockey, lacrosse, and basketball, drove a truck and supervised railroad freight — all while writing books in her head. She is well known amongst the lesbian community for her Warriors of Isis books - a futuristic sci-fi drama/action series.

She lives in Seattle, in the Pacific Northwest, with her life-partner, Susie.

She has been quoted as saying, “If you find Whit or Lilith or Cumbrian admirable, then strive to be like them. Become a leader yourself, and we’ll turn America into Freeland.”
