Jeff the Killer
Jeff the Killer is a fictional creepypasta character and internet meme believed to have been first created in 2008, predominantly centering around a photo of a man with black hair and a white face. The original history of how the image is not clear, but one theory has the meme originating from a post on 4chan that contained a picture of an ordinary, overweight teen girl that had reportedly committed suicide after being bullied from 4chan posters.[1] According to Daily Dot, who collected several of the popular theories surrounding the meme, the image was later photoshopped and altered into Jeff the Killer.[2] Other theories involved viral marketing for Saw V or a photoshop of Overly Attached Girlfriend.[2]
The meme has been compared to similar creepypasta memes such as Slenderman.[3]
