Jens Geutebrück

Jens Geutebrück(11 May 1974) is a German historian, writer, director and actor from Hörselgau, Thuringia.

Work and creation[edit]

He attended the gymnasium in Arnstadt. Research focused on the sepulchral culture of the former duchy of Gotha and its history, the history of archaic Greece, the history of science, theory and didactics of the Rococo period.

Geutebrück has so far published eight books on regional history with a focus on Gotha. In addition, he published a picture book about the history of Postmortem photography under the name of Sandor Weltmann.

Geutebrück appeared in the film Melancholie der Engel in a secondary role.

Research work Sepulchral culture[edit]

Geutebrück has been searching for gravestones for several years, which originally stood on the 1904-1909 "old god-potter" at Gotha. It was only in the year 2016 that he was able to record several successes. He found the tombstone of Gotha's mayor Thomas Bachofen von Echt, who had been missing for a century. In addition the Rococo Gravestones of Maria Sabine Gerbett, Johann Reinhardt and Sidonia Reinhardt were found by him. In addition, there are several fragments of sepulchral masonry work on Gotha. In 2011 he found the base of the "Golden Diana", which had been missing for 70 years.

Genealogical origin[edit]

Geutebrück comes from the old family Geutebrück and is therefore a direct descendant of the family Bachofen of Echt, Jacobs, Heydenreich, Purgold, Mattenberg, Volck, Hunnius and Cranach.
