Jermaine Edwards (born November 7, 1989) is an American professional basketball player.[1] Edwards is from Baltimore, Maryland, and attended Digital Harbor High School.

College career

Edwards began his college career at Cecil College in 2009, leading the Seahawks to a 29-7 record as a sophomore, averaging 13.7 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Edwards played in 26 games as the Seahawks won the District 11 championship and finished sixth in the NCAA National Tournament. In his two seasons playing for Cecil College, the Seahawks went 63-9. In 2010, Edwards transferred to Barry University in Miami, Florida, pursuing a degree in Mass Communications. While attending Barry University, he played for their team, The Bucks. During this time, Edwards scored an average of 9 points per game and 8 rebounds per game. He also placed fourth in most blocked shots in the season and in Barry University basketball history.

Professional career

After attending Barry University, he went back to his home state of Maryland to play for a semi-professional team, The Bay Area Shuckers, through the American Basketball Association. After a month with The Bay Area Shuckers, averaging 18 points per game and 10 rebounds, he decided to attend an international basketball training camp, where he was offered a contract with Asia Immaculada, a professional basketball team in Lima, Peru.
