  • In the 2015 Marvel Netflix series Jessica Jones, a gender-swapped version of Jeryn Hogarth named Jeri Hogarth is played by Carrie-Anne Moss.[1] She is the first lesbian character of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[2] Jeri is a lawyer who provides Jessica with cases even if she doesn't agree with Jessica's methods of handling them and is married to Wendy Ross until she has an affair with her secretary, Pam. She agrees to take on the case to free Hope from prison at Jessica's request. Jeri wants a divorce from Wendy and hires Jessica to find dirt on Wendy as her wife blackmails her by using evidence that would put her career at risk, as Jeri has gone through unethical methods to win some of her cases. She even encourages Jessica to use her powers to threaten Wendy into signing the divorce papers. She envies the abilities of Kilgrave to manipulate everyone around him and even steals Hope's aborted fetus (when she was raped by Kilgrave) to try and find the secret of his powers, and is responsible for Kilgrave escaping Jessica's prison. Kilgrave makes her go to a doctor she trusted and she takes him to Wendy. Kilgrave is so disgusted by Jeri's actions as a lawyer and towards Wendy that he orders Wendy to kill her, but she is saved when Pam kills Wendy in self-defense. Pam is arrested and breaks up with Jeri now knowing what type of person Jeri truly is. She is later seen defending Jessica after Jessica murders Kilgrave.
  • Moss reprised her role of Jeri Hogarth in the Daredevil episode "A Cold Day in Hell's Kitchen." She offered Foggy Nelson a job at her firm. Matt Murdock persuades Foggy to take Jeri's offer as a way to move on.
  • Moss will also return in the upcoming Netflix series Iron Fist.[3]
