Jessaja Mweshipopya is a Namibian ice stock player.

Sports career[edit]

Mweshipopya started playing in 2006 for the Deutsche Turn- und Sportverein (DTS). 2010 he moved to Windhoek Bowling Club.[citation needed] He is one on the best players in Namibia;[1] As of 2020 he has played 98 times for the Namibian national team,[2] which won the Africa Cup on four occasions, latest in 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.[3]

Mweshipopya participated at five world icestock championships:[4] 2008, 2012,[5] 2014, 2018 and 2020[1] in Regen, Germany, when Namibia came second in group B.[6]


Mweshipopya was born on 3 April 1974 in Eenhana in northern Namibia. He is a Kwanyama of the Ovambo people.[4] He started playing ice stock in 2006. Mweshipopya is a gardener by profession. He supplements his income with amateur photography.[7]
