Jesse Rufus Boateng Morgan (born September 18, 1977 in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana) known professionally as Jesse Morgan is a Ghanaian-American gospel singer-songwriter and instrumentalist.
Early life
Morgan was the third of five children born to Bishop William Peter Morgan and Lucy Baah Ayesu-Appiah in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, Ghana. He grew up in Accra, Ghana with his parents and four siblings. He was a musical prodigy, joining the Assemblies of God church choir at age eleven and later ministering with the Gospel Light International Church in his native Ghana.
He then travelled to England in 1998 to assist his father's church, Vision International Ministries, in London, and later moved to California when the church relocated its headquarters to Los Angeles in the United States.
Career
Morgan has appeared in six gospel albums. In late 2015, he announced plans to release a new album, Give Me Faith, in 2016 for I Believe Music, an independent gospel record label based in Los Angeles where Morgan is signed as an artist, writer, and producer. [1] In May 2015, he released the single "Here we stand" from his upcoming album "Give me faith". "Here we stand" was featured prominently on many radio stations in Ghana and the United States. The music video was released on Vevo and YouTube in December 2015. [2]
In 2012, Jesse shared the stage with Gospel Artist Micah Stampley in New York, and in 2013 performed alongside Gospel Artists Donnie McClurkin and Tye Tribbett in Los Angeles, California. Recently, on January 16, 2015, he also shared the stage with Gospel Stellar Award Winner Pastor Jason Nelson in Los Angeles, California.[3]
Personal life
Morgan lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Rebecca, and son, Daniel D. Morgan.[4]
