Jhonny Evidence
Jhonny Alberto Henrique (born January 14, 1987), better known by his stage name Jhonny Evidence is a Dominican Bachata singer who was born in Higüey, Dominican Republic.
Early Life[edit]
Growing up, Jhonny was always a very active young man who always excelled in anything he worked on. Since childhood, Jhonny showed a passion for music. He even created his own guitar with wood and nylon strings. However, Jhonny's father wanted him to pursue a career as an attorney.[1]
Career[edit]
In 2004, Jhonny joined a bachata group called Evolution. That same year, Jhonny recorded his first album, SENTIMIENTOS. This album featured his first musical duet with maestro Ramon Orlando.
Three years later, Jhonny parted ways with Evolution to pursue a law degree per his father's wish. Jhonny's passion for music still remained very alive, which eventually led to his withdrawal from his studies in 2008. That same year, Jhonny formed an urban bachata group named EVIDENCE. Shortly after he released his second studio album.
EVIDENCE began to quickly gain national and international recognition from record labels. The group has continued to grow its fan market in the United States, Panama, Saint Croix, Puerto Rico, and more.
Within the last year, Jhonny has recorded 12 singles, including collaborations with European DJs and international artists. Johnny has managed to enter several independent Bachata Spotify playlists which continue to increase with streams and followers[2]
Unfortunately due to the recent COVID pandemic, Johnny had to postpone his highly anticipated tour. In 2021, Jhonny will begin his global tour around Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Jhonny is currently signed to ESQ Musica.
