Jim Carroll [1] is a Canadian futurist and trends and innovation expert.[2] [3]
Carroll has headlined events worldwide, including the CSC Executive Interchange,[4] the Consumer Goods & Technology Innovation Congress,[5] Swiss Innovation Forum, the 4th World HealthCare Innovation and Technology Congress, the Bombardier Operators Conference and Tradeshow,[6] the 2010 Consumer Electronics Association CEO Summit in Ojai, California;[7] the Corenet Global Summit in New Orleans;[8] the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit in Orlando;[9] the VIBE (Very Important Beverage Executives) 2010 conference in Las Vegas;[10] and the opening speaker for the 94th Annual General Meeting of the PGA - Professional Golf Association of America in 2010.[11] He speaks on a wide variety of topics, including technology, business model change, innovation, and global challenges and growth.[12]
Jim Carroll was an authority on the evolution of the Internet in Canada in the 1990s, such as found in an interview with Peter Mansbridge on the CBC show One-on-One[13] in which he discussed the forthcoming dot.com collapse [14], as well as a 1994 CBC interview on the emerging Internet[15] that is now in the CBC official Archive site, and future-oriented articles in the Globe & Mail in Canada[16] [17] [2]. From 1998 to 2002, he wrote a weekly column in the Report on Business for the Globe & Mail [18] [19]
He speaks at numerous conferences and events, such as the National Fire Protection Association annual conference[20] in Las Vegas, the IRU World Congress[21] in Oman in November 2018, the 2018 World Government Summit [22] in Dubai, Fabtech Canada in Toronto, the Macola Software annual user group conference[23], the 2017 McKay Edge Summit in Vancouver[24], the 2017 Baker McKenzie Doing Business Globally Summit[25], the 25th Annual North American Mushroom Conference, and the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce State of the Economy event.[26]
He has been interviewed in a wide range of publications on future trends, including New Equipment Manufacturing[27], CPA Canada[28], and Dealer Marketing Magazine[29].
