Jinbei was founded in Shanghai, China in 1995 by Ye Xiaochun, who is a member of Seagull Camera company.[2]

The product range mainly focused on lighting units and their accessories. especially studio strobe lights, battery powered lights for outdoor shooting, advance technology remote controllers and modifiers, like Soft box, umbrellas and reflectors.[3]
