Jitin Bhatia is an Indian entrepreneur, best known as the founder and chief executive officer of the travel focused social media platform Explurger.[1][2][3]
Early life and education
Jitin Bhatia was born in India and completed his schooling at Delhi Public School, Delhi. He then graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Delhi.[4][better source needed]
Career
He began his career as a freelance software developer, writing his first program in 1998 for the Delhi Police's FIR system.
In 2000, Bhatia joined CMI Ltd. as a project manager and systems analysis.[4] In 2004, he founded Globule Consulting, an information technology consulting and software development firm. He later held senior leadership positions, serving as a director at Action Group in 2008 and at INSA South Africa in 2009.[4][5]
At the BRICS Summit in South Africa in 2019, he represented India as the President of the CII-India Business Forum (2017-21), at the prestigious Economic Growth Conference.[6]
In 2022, Bhatia founded the social-media platform Explurger with actor Sonu Sood.[7] The platform focuses on travel-based sharing and automated travelogue that allows users to record journeys, track visited locations, and earn rewards for engagement.[8][9] Explurger was recognized by Google as an innovative app in India and globally.[10][11] In February 2024, the platform raised $4.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Affle India Ltd.[12]
